I am Jane's Hidden Agenda

I have a hidden agenda. My mother says that my glorious behind is 'itchy' because ever since I've moved to KL, I've been constantly moving places almost every year. I've just moved into Lagoon View less than 7 months ago, but now I'm feeling the itch to move again. Let me get this straight, in actual fact, my derrière is neither physically, literally nor figuratively itchy at all.
The first time I had to move was because I was 'relocating' to a better life, or so it seemed that way during then. Although I must say that I'm very glad with the move because that place was a pothole (pun intended) place anyway. Nevertheless, Sunway is well-known for being expensive and thus, even a twin sharing room is absurdly priced. That, and the idea of having to share my room with another stranger after my second experience, pushed me to move (this is what my mother means by my rocking the boat, I can't actually deny it really). My first roommate was Guat Lee, I shall not get into how I came to know her and who introduced us because the person no longer exists when I'm concerned. I must say that she was a fantastic partner in crime, even though I barely knew her when I first roomed with her, but then again, I was childish, foolish and naive, and so I let our friendship and relationship dwindle. If I had the chance, I'd go back to rectify it. I admit my mistakes now because I know that it was partially my fault for believing in someone so stupid but I don't regret them because at least it made me stronger and more cautious.
My original plan was to move in with my friends, and since the other apartment looked as if it was a murder scene, we had no choice but to look for a unit in the even more absurdly priced Lagoon View. We found one to our liking, but the terms were not in our favour. I still remember the heart ache and trouble it caused me, and I tell you that experience is living proof that Murphy's law doesn't only exist, but is, to a certain extend, very mild. Let's just say that bad things didn't cease to exist even after meeting all five requirements, it went further on. Even though I persevered, I ended up with nothing at all. That is why I don't believe that if you have determination, and perseverance, you can achieve anything. That is bullshit and I can prove to you that it is a lie. The experience, however, taught me a lesson I thought I'd never learn, that is to know when to quit and when enough is enough. I, stubborn as I am, am, in fact, determined and strong-willed, that is, once I set my mind to it. This, has led to my not being able to give up and insisting on my own ways, even though the path that it leads to is of much consequences (most of them unknown). I like being the guinea pig, the pioneer, of which later on every body will follow suit, with regards to my success. It has always been like this. Nobody will even remember me after that, but if something went wrong, I'm always to blame even though I really didn't know that person at all. Nevertheless, the condo experience was one of a narrow escape, of which I could have been liable for RM3000 legally, and for that I am thankful.
And so, I ended up here, in a twin sharing room of a 12-room pent house. Luxurious as it sounds, it is not at all how you expect it to be. Of course the room has a better design, is more spacious, with a built-in closet, tall windows and better looking curtains, but the outside is HORRIBLE. At least it is not as dirty as it used to be when I was staying at Monash Condo with the Indonesian housemate (I don't usually generalize, but she really left a bad impression of Indonesians on me). Not only that, my things used to go missing! For the first few months, life here was way better than in the Condo. But with the addition of a VU housemate, it became the same as before. Things missing, food missing, utensils missing, utensils being used without permission, and misplaced, equipment being blown up and misused without permission. And when she had a new roommate, she decided that it was custom to pass on the habit and so has 'educated' her junior to do the same as her. And she, her friend who doesn't even stay in this side of the penthouse. When I first moved here, I liked how the people here were cautious of their space and did not invade each other's privacy, but this all vanished when these people came into the picture. To make matters worse, the management decided to throw caution to the wind and admit any Teressa, Debra and Hermione (sisters of Tom, Dick and Harry) in here. When I first moved here, the warden had told me that the penthouse was 'exclusive' and was reserved only for hostelites with good track records. This is so not the case now. It just doesn't make sense to put a Muslim girl among several Chinese girls, especially if they come from China and love pork so much they throw it everywhere on the floor. Not only that, now there's a Black girl here (although I'm afraid of African guys, I don't really have a problem with the girls) and the Malay girl has decided that she should teach her how to violate people's space and blow up other people's new microwaves.

You can argue that this is not my house, but how would you feel if you stayed in a place where any one can walk in and out as they please? You might as well leave the doors open, put a 'WELCOME" mat outside and put up fliers to invite thieves in. I never did realise and never did have a problem until now, but now I DO NOT like people touching my things without my permission ESPECIALLY if they plan to blow it up, don't follow instructions, insist on putting metal into the microwave even though there is no plate in there to turn, and ESPECIALLY IF THEY PLAN TO LEAVE IT EVERYWHERE ELSE EXCEPT where they found it and in a dirty condition. I am not your maid and I am not your mother. I did not purchase my things for your use and convenience and I most certainly do not fancy cleaning up after you. Heck, I don't even fancy cleaning up after myself but at least I have the decency to take up the responsibility.

As I've said, monkeys should be treated like monkeys, and uncivilized people should be treated as they are. I tried talking NICELY to them not once, not twice, but UMPTEEN times, but still they don't get the point. In actual fact, it is official that they do not have my permission and consent and are specifically prohibited from using my things, but these thick cement faced people insist on using other people's things, and so I went to the next step. I stuck a big fat notice that said please keep your OWN space clean to avoid cockroaches and OTHER PESTS (Pests being them). But no, these people are blind. They choose to be oblivious and continue using other people's things. And so, that day, I chose to be oblivious to their presence and purportedly bad-mouthed them in front of my friend. If you want to be thick-faced, I shall treat you as you are. But she proved me wrong, her face is thicker than thick face because she still leaves her things everywhere and dirties my stuff. Can you imagine she warped the table Prema left me? It is up to that extent what her horrible habits are. My roommate showed her no mercy and put up a very frank notice that read "PRIVATE PROPERTY, TRESPASSERS will be prosecuted. And guess what, they still trespass, when they THINK no one is looking.

And so, the other day, while walking around Pyramid, I spotted Sam, and found out that he got kicked out of the Condo because he has been staying there for more than one year. I am waiting anxiously for someone to kick me out, but to no avail. I cannot get kicked out because I committed a crime because then my mother would know. Any ideas? I really want my own space. I feel so violated, invaded, trespassed, EXPOSED! I want my own space. I want I want I want. And so, my conniving little scheming brain has decided that I shall be 'oblivious' to the fact that I have to appeal for another year's stay, meaning that I will 'disregard' the existence of the letter, and look for other things to manipulate into being in my favour as well, I must say I am very good at that. So, if you have any more ideas, please feel free to drop them in the chat box. The plan that actually works will win a dinner on me (not literally) at Carl's Junior? Shogun? What tickles your fancy? If my mother could speed up her process of getting a house here (but she wouldn't be staying here anyway, since my dad refuses to move), then I'd get the whole house to myself!! MUAHAHAHA..Evil evil..And I'd get a car! MUAHAHAHA..By the way, did I mention I'm no longer on probation? I am now a full-fledged driver who has not driven in two years.

On a side note, about two nights ago, I was browsing through Sze Wei's blog when her friend list caught my attention. Under the name Chin Kwang was the title 'Of Condo and Mentari Court'. Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to drop by and visit. It seems that Chin Kwang is currently in Sunway! Doing what, I didn't know.
First, let me explain who Chin Kwang is. Koay Chin Kwang is the brother of Koay Guat Im who was my senior who enjoyed bullying me during my Girl Guide as well as Ranger days. She never failed to heavily 'punish' me during base games every year during our annual so-called 'camp' which really is just staying in school and nothing at all like real camping, except that one night when we get to cook our own food over an open fire. Other than that, Chin Kwang was also my brother's class mate before he skipped a year and I have met him on a few occasions, such as in his school, and during Buddhist camp. I must say that I was very impressed when I first saw his acting debut at the inter-school drama competition. Nevertheless, we are more or less acquaintances, rather than friends.
The next morning after I found out about his staying here at Sunway, I heard a very young guy's voice calling my name while I was passing by the financial counter (of which there is another story to it) and when I turned around to look, it was HIM! How weird is that, it was as if stumbling accross his blog was like a fore-warning to meeting him. That's the end of my curiousity. Totally random, isn't it?

P/s: My IV wounds still hurt like crazy!!!! And now the place where they took blood from is starting to turn green as well. I look like a pot addict and my gums have pieces of string dangling from them. Am having them removed tomorrow and after that, I'm going to meet Aili.

By the way, I asked my mother to call the hospital while I was in class so that I could run there if I needed to right after class, but she decided to entrust my dad with the task, of which instead of heading to the hospital, he headed the opposite to Dr. Low's clinic. Great parenting. No comment. Maybe all wounds are the same, all organs are the same, so next time, when you need a heart transplant and they only have kidneys, try it. Apparently they're all the same, that is, according to great parents.

I am

I am

I am Jane's splitting sides

No, I didn't laugh until I split my sides, but I did sneeze and broke all my stitches. Now I'm panicking because I don't know what to do. Should I go see a doctor or should I just wait till I go and see the dentist? Went shopping today, and decided to expand my shoe empire. Got a pair of sexy pumps, but I don't think they're sexy enough, although they are the only comfortable pair. How am I going to get used to wearing high heels again? Am so tired, I can't even open my eyes anymore..will continue this later..Night!!

P/s: I think the general anesthetic might have taken its toll on my brain cells. I find myself very forgetful today, and very disorientated. Been drifting in and out of class, possibly due to the lack of food, but I was a total scatter-brain today. My IV wounds still hurt like crazy and the green bruises have gotten worse. It's as if I'm slowly turning into incredible hulk or something. Been sleeping early these days and am trying to keep up with it, since I have two 8am classes now. Sucks balls..

I am Jane, just for laughs

Perhaps I got a little too cozy in the hospital beds, thus explaining why I couldn't fall asleep last night. Nonetheless, I woke up pretty early (considering Jane-time) today, and have successfully wasted the whole morning. Have been surfing here and there, waiting for people who know better than to wake up at ungodly hours on a weekend to online just so I can disturb them, and am now waiting for Mr Sunil who has managed to surpass my waking hour to wake up, bathe his Kaiser and come fetch me so that I can paint the Golden Triangle red once more. Oh yes, I'm in the mood for shopping today. Strange enough, even though I've been complaining about the lack of food intake, I mysteriously don't feel hungry right now, and can't possibly tell if I have any energy or not.

Anyhow, since I'm so bored, and since I'm still letting myself go and not studying, I am in a very cheeky mood, possibly because I have no wisdom teeth left. Thus, I am in the mood of re-posting all the weird Friendster messages I have received (some in words I can't understand) and share with the world, the horror and abuse of Friendster. Shall I include their perverted pictures? Let's start from the very beginning:

I am Jane after Hospital Trauma

Yes, I don't have to repeat myself and regurgitate how TERRIFIED I am of hospitals, but yet, I survived three days two nights there and here I am, relieving the memories so that I shall always have a reminder of how HORRIBLE it was.

Pre-admittance:

As agreed, I mustered all my courage to get my ass to the hospital to get the terrifying blood test. I remember Mabel saying how painful it was when they took her blood to screen for Denggi. And so, I braced myself for the worst. It wasn't really painful actually, except for the part when the needle goes in. After which, my doctor, Dr. Sathesh (I think I'm very fond of him now, for some weird reason), informed me that the hospital had just received two emergency cases and that my operation had to be postponed to Saturday. =.= Not at all happy since I've missed class and I don't want to go to class in pain. And so, him being very compasionate argued my case to Dr. Ferdinand (or Dr. Ferds, as Kuhan calls him) and so, I got squeezed in between the two emergencies. I refuse to have to brace myself umpteen times before I actually get the stupid thing done, I might as well do it now, while I still don't feel like chickening out.

First day:
I have no idea why they insisted I get admitted at 8.30 am (such an un-godly hour) and so we went to get myself a place in one of those very cool but scary hospital beds. Fortunately for me, I got the new ward, which is less scary, less dirty, and much brighter. Funny thing was they wanted my dad to put in a deposit of RM400 for second class (since I was too scared to stay in first class alone). Who the hell carries RM 400 around town? But being the kepoh me, I decided to go question the nurse this and that and later on, after my parents left, they said that we only had to put in a deposit of RM15. And so, began my three days, two nights stay at the very scary Hospital Taiping.

The first thing that happened was me entering the air-conditioned room, and them almost forcing me to lie on the bed when I wasn't even sick. As if that was not bad, they made me wear hospital clothes made of unflattering patched up green cloth, which have been fore-worn by other possibly very sick people. Why oh why did they have to pretend I was sick when I was not at all? And so, the whole afternoon, I spent my time playing beau's PSP while trying to get the little girl from the bed next door off my highlighters. At this point, I finally came to the conclusion that hospital = prison, nurse = prison warden, doctor = executioner. Around 4.30 pm, while I was anxiously waiting for my mother fto bring me my 'last supper', the convoy of dentists came in, and crowded around my bed. Of course, Dr. Sathesh was there, beginning with his usual "How are you feeling, Janice?" which, I obliviously replied "Fine, thank you." And then, they closed the curtains around me, and I got scared. The next thing that came out of his mouth did not please me at all, it sounded like this: "Let's close the curtain just in case you scream". I'm telling you, never have I wanted to run so badly in my whole life! To make things worse, it was the Malay female dental intern who 'tried' to put in the IV tube, not Dr. Sathesh. After frantically trying to poke me twice, while I was held down by one nurse, one Indonesian maid, and the other doctors, the Malay male dental intern tried. After which, the Chinese female intern tried, and although she looked the most confident of them all, she still failed and so Dr. Sathesh came to the rescue. Having him drawn blood out of me put me at least a little bit of ease compared to the other doctors. Sad to say, even he failed. Suddenly, the curtains drew open and I saw Dr. Ferds standing with his bluetooth piece in his ear wondering how hard it was to put an IV tube into a 19-year old. After twisting my hand this way and that, he decided to try the other hand, looking for the biggest most juicy vein to poke. And in it went and there it stayed. Mind you, it was no less painful than the previous three attempts.

After the IV ordeal, I really felt at home in the hospital since I was 'mentally sick' already at that time. And so, when my mother came later on, I had already lost my appetite and all my strength. At approximately 9pm, after I had a one-handed bath, I was sleepy enough to fall asleep since I deprived myself of sleep the last night just so I wouldn't have a hard time sleeping at the hospital. Around 11.30pm, some bloody nurse decided to wake me up to give me sleeping pills. =.= Seriously, I would like to know what the sleeping pills were for since I was already fast asleep.

Second day:
The next day, i got woken up at 6.30am to bathe and wait for doom. Mum came at 9.30 am, much to my delight, and the dreadful phone call from the Operating Theater finally rang at 10.00am, by which the nurses were all frantically running around trying to get me as fast as they could. I really don't understand why they insisted I get on the stretcher when I was perfectly capable of walking. And so, I was dressed in those backless hospital gowns which exposed your ass if you walked around, put onto a stretcher, pushed into an ambulance, and driven all they way on the bumpy road to the operating theater, which really looked and smelt like a slaughter house. Inside, I was placed on the side walk, like some pig waiting to be slaughtered while the nurses and surgeons walked around gleefully, some carrying lunch boxes and what-nots. To my horror, I also saw a pantry there, and a lady pushing a trolley full of eggs, bee-hoon, and other food stuff into the operating theater, and into the pantry. Seriously, how do these people still have the appetite to eat even after butchering up human flesh? An hour after I've been pushed into the operating theater, another stretcher got pushed in, and on it was a little girl with a bleeding ear. Apparently her ear drum burst and her careless mother couldn't even be bothered to take her to the hospital when there was clearly puss in her ear, until it was too late. The little girl didn't wait long because 15 minutes later, someone came and pushed her into the operating theater. Another 15 minutes later, she was back out and there I still was, waiting impatiently for doom to arrive. At about 11.30am, Dr. Sathesh got bored, and decided to come chit chat with me, which really slowed down my almost roof-busting heart beat rate, telling me that they had just finished the first case and I shall be wheeled in soon, not that I was in a hurry. Finally, at 12.00pm, I saw a man being wheeled out from the operating theater I was destined to be in, half conscious, moaning as loud as he could with whatever strength he had left in him, and he was clearly in PAIN. That sent my blood pressure and heart beat rate sky-rocketing again, but I wasn't given any options because before I could even think of jumping down and running through the door, the anaesthetist came out of no where and put something into my IV tube, after which I was quickly wheeled into the operating theater. All I remember was somebody undressing me, some guy and girl taking turns injecting stuff into the IV tube, breathe in, breathe out, funny smelling gas, and the room started spinning. Next thing I knew, somebody was telling me "Dik, bangun dik". I remember hallucinating, but I also remember saying "Saya nak balik.." before passing out again. Next thing I knew, I was being undressed again, and somebody pulled my IV tube while trying to put the shirt on, which really hurt, and then being pants-less on the bed. The next time I woke up, my auntie and uncle were there and my aunt was mumbling something about how my mother should love me more (hahaha...), and then I knocked out again. Later in the evening, the doctors came to check on my wound which was still bleeding, much to my dismay and had to be compressed. Fortunately, I managed to convince them that I could do without the IV tube, since the intern nurse wonderfully inserted it together with an air bubble. I even convinced them that I only needed oral pain killers, instead of a shot. Some how, later that night, I became slightly feverish which sent my mother running everywhere trying to get someone to get me paracetamol. Honestly, I think the IV tube hurt much more than the tooth extraction itself. Later that night, when I was in pain, the nurses refused to give me any pain killers or sedatives although the doctor had already prescribed them and so, I had to force myself to sleep.

Day Three:
The next morning, I mysteriously woke up at 5.30 am, expecting to be woken up soon and asked to shower because a new set of over-sized green shirt and sarong was at the foot of my bed. Surprisingly, nobody came and woke me up until 8.00am, asking me to bathe because the dental surgeon wanted me at the clinic at 8.30am. Some nurse was waiting outside the bathroom door with pain killers in her hands. When I told her that I didn't need them, she said "Semalam you minta?". Obviously! I was in pain yesterday, not today. Why on earth would I need pain killers today for yesterday's pain? I swallowed it down and followed the dental nurse into the ambulance to be taken to the dental clinic. Unfortunately, Dr. Sathesh was there, but Dr. Ferds was still there to poke fun at me, asking me things like "you sure you don't want to stay another night?" and "I thought you liked needles?". The Chinese intern signed my discharge papers and I was practically running back to the ward to get my things packed, never mind the ambulance. My sarong was falling everywhere while I ran all the way back to the ward where my mother had already packed my things.

Post-admittance
Today, I came home, as promised, because my beau was making a fuss over how I promised to meet him at Pudu Raya. Annoyingly, he almost decided to get down at Wangsa Maju and abandon me when I'm clearly not in any condition to move let alone think for myself. Still, he abandoned me in the LRT and left me to find my own way back. How can I not be annoyed? He said he wanted to study but I know right now he's nicely sleeping away.

Honestly, my stay at the hospital could have been much worse. I owe Dr. Sathesh for the least pain I had to endure, the Indonesian maid Yani, who held me down and also made sure I was sleeping well at night and the pregnant nurse Sa'adiah who comforted me on the way to the slaughter house. If you ask me, I don't think I ever want an IV tube in my body ever again, but I really don't think GA is such a scary thing. To a certain extent, my sadistic side actually liked being put to sleep, hallucinating, drifting in and out. But if you ask me if I ever want to stay in the hospital again, I will gladly say NO! The bed may be cool (since the head part can be brought up and down..hehe), but the pillows are bloody uncomfortably high. Also, it wasn't so bad, because the beds are lined with PVC and are aired everytime somebody leaves.

P/s: I know this is a very boring post, but I'm still in pain and half conscious, and so I'm not thinking straight. Nevertheless, it is for my own reminder, and not yours.

p/p/s: Just found pictures of my 'souvenirs' from the hospital. Forgot to take pictures of my fractured tooth (my tooth was not fractured when I went in for surgery, okay?) Weird thing was that the hospital was infested with flies and mosquitoes (possibly Aedes), and nobody even cared about them! Did I mention that the anesthetist (she couldn't even pronounce the word anesthetic and foam was coming out from the side of her mouth, I was 'very' confident in her) came in and scared the living shit out of me by telling me that she would put me into such deep sleep that I would not even be able to breathe by myself, and that she'd stick a tube down my nose and that it would cause it to bleed, and possibly my blood pressure will crash or my heart rate will shoot sky high? Don't need to wait for operation, my blood pressure and heart rate already shot sky high at that very moment. After which, she happily skipped out of the ward and left me to wonder if I'd wake up next in the ICU ward.Looks like mosquito bites but they're actually unsuccessful IV tube insertions. Mosquito bites are not visible because my camera wasn't good enough. Couldn't take a picture of my right hand because my left hand was too weak by the time I got out of the hospital. The green patch is NOT due to lighting, I think it is burst veins. Geez, I went in perfectly healthy, and I came out looking like a drug addict with spots all over my body and no strength at all.

Also, after looking at the old lady beside my bed, I have come to the conclusion that I never want to grow old, I don't want to become senile, and I don't want a long life, long enough to watch my own suffering. I don't want to have to sit in the hospital day and night waiting for death and life, I don't want people to talk to me as if I'm deaf and blind, and senile. I don't want to grow old, not even gracefully.

I am Jane saying Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish

Meant to post this up a long time ago, but didn't have the chance. Even worse still, my IBM is not with me now, so I don't have the leisure and privacy of lying in my 'favourite position' to type away.

With regards to the title, yes, the bugger my brother finally flew off. Although I don't miss his presence, my mother obviously does! Actually, I was not obliged to send him to the airport, but miss the drama I shall not! It's not every day or even every year I get to see my mother send her favourite son off! Oh, what drama and oh, what a great clip it will make! Shall I post it here? Hehehe... On a side note, when my mother told me I didn't have to send him to the airport because he'd come back soon, my reply was "If you haven't notice, we both can live without each other's existence." Which was a very WRONG thing to say because the sob story got out after that, it went a bit like this:

Me : Ma, if you haven't noticed, we actually get by pretty well without each other's existence.
*awkward silence*
Mum: I know, you think I don't know? I know that if you could, you'd want to live without my existence as well. You think I don't know what you need me for?

Very hard to talk to my mum without being caught up in her web! Please tell me if I'm being paranoid and that she has no other intention, because it's kind of obvious, isn't it? Hate it extremely when she uses this tactic on me...

And so, because a gazillion people called me up after my brother left and tried COMFORTING ME, let me make a few points straight:

  1. No, I don't miss him, even though we are very prone to sibling rivalry and we lived under the same roof and under the same tyranny for almost 20 years, we ARE NOT close to each other and we DO NOT need to depend on each other.
  2. No, I'm not sad that he left. Don't even get me started here.
  3. No, I'm not glad that he left because, him leaving means that my mother's full physical attention will be on me, and after 16 years without, I've learnt to live with it and I refuse to adapt to the change just because she has time for me now. So, NO, I don't need and want the extra attention.
  4. Yes, I'm very jealous because he got to fly away from this place and I don't but No, I'm not jealous that he got a full scholarship because they pay him peanuts (which attract monkeys like him).
  5. Yes, I do want to fly there, but I want to do it with my own money, and certainly not while being bonded to some government.
  6. No, I am not wondering what he will become like when he becomes because although we're not close, my brother is perfectly predictable to me.
  7. No, I'm not scared that he will marry a Canadian and never come back because my dad will make a big fuss and I'm not really bothered.
On another note, this week, I got assigned to review handphones. Yes, they are my weakness, I don't know why. I don't follow the trend, but when I see something I really want, it just keeps popping up everywhere as if to taunt me/ tempt me into buying them. What's worse, I'm reviewing the phone that I like, which means that I can see even more advantages of it!! So, please, if someone is generous enough, hint hint...
"Buy me..buy me!! I know you love me!!"

Last month's pay went everywhere except the bank. So this month I have to save. I want a car! And so many other things. How to multiply money? Can someone teach me? I also want that thing above that keeps taunting me... Should I sell my k770i? But I've never sold my phones, they have sentimental value!! Dilemma...
